A lone sailor stands on the bridge of a cargo ship at sunrise, looking through binoculars toward the horizon. The calm morning sea and first light symbolize awareness, preparation, and intentional living, the beginning of the daily Morning Watch.

Where The Two Worlds Meet.

Good morning, friends.

The Moment

In the galley, things happen around me as thoughts run through my mind.

Around me, a meal is taking shape. Pots simmer, the clock ticks, and lunchtime draws closer.

In my mind, another scene can unfold: thoughts about running late, the pressure to get everything right, and a voice telling me I should already be further ahead.

The work needs my attention. But so does the way I am experiencing it.

One Useful Thought

We live in two worlds: the world around us and the world within us.

They affect each other. Something happens outside, and a thought or feeling rises inside. What we do with that feeling then becomes part of the world around us: a word, a decision, a gesture.

Awareness helps us notice that exchange.

Notice both worlds before choosing your next move.

One Question Worth Carrying.

"What is happening around me right now, and what thoughts are running through my mind about it?"

The One-Degree Turn

When you feel pressure or irritation today, pause long enough to name two things:

Outside: What actually happened?

Inside: What thoughts are running through my mind about it?

Then choose one response that fits the situation and the person you want to be.

One moment of awareness. One degree of correction.

Fair winds,
